This support system is vital when the team is dealing with adversity. "It may sound corny, but this 'family' deals with all issues head on and together," Dudak said. "When one member of our staff has a problem, we all do our best to brainstorm and find a solution. Sometimes the issue is of a personal nature and other times it is work related. Whatever the issue, it is owned by us all. We have weathered through deaths, illnesses, financial losses and celebrated graduations, births, marriages and life events. This has extended to our patient family as well and this is what sets us apart."

Getting through the bad times is easier when there are happy times to look forward to, and at South Broward, there are always exciting plans in the works. "Making the time we spend together fun and enjoyable is important," Dudak said. "We always come up with new and innovative ideas."

For instance, the team recently organized a "swap shop" where everyone brought in items from home they no longer wanted in exchange for another person’s item. The team also has bowling nights and pool parties. "It is more than obvious that we enjoy each others company at work and after hours," Dudak said. "Giving back is important to our staff and that includes giving to one another. That is why South Broward Endoscopy is a GI All-Star team!"
