At the Louisville Endoscopy Center, our team members are dedicated, loyal and focused on high-quality patient care. They are dependable and consistently looking for ways to make improvements for our patients and co-workers. Teamwork is essential to our efficiently operated business and has been since its opening.
Our ambulatory surgery center opened in the year 2000 and includes three procedure rooms and nine board-certified gastroenterologists. We primarily perform EGDs, colonoscopies, flexible sigmoidoscopies, small-bowel enteroscopies, and have just added the Bravo procedure. We perform about 8,000 procedures per year. There are approximately 32 employees at our center and three experienced CRNAS who provide excellent patient care and outcomes for our patients.
Our patient satisfaction ratings are consistently in the 97 percent to 99 percent range. Our corporate partners, Amsurg Corporation, are located in Nashville. Their participation with our facility is invaluable to the staff and the physicians. Our medical director is Dr. Paul Brown, whose leadership is outstanding and who is consistent with high standards. He is constantly searching for innovative ways to keep our facility in top operating mode.
Our facility incorporates the guidelines recommended by ASGE, SGNA, APIC, and AORN where applicable. The Louisville Endoscopy Center is AAAHC accredited center and has recently earned an additional three years of accreditation.
Our team is full of loyal employees, such as Debbie Hayes, RN.
"I remember starting my job at the Louisville Endoscopy Center before the center opened," Hayes said. "We literally put together IV carts, bedside tables, monitors, etc. Lunch was provided for us each day for two weeks while we worked to get everything in place and organized. It was fun to be a part of the center from the beginning, and see it grow into the successful center that it is today."
Hayes also has special memories of the team's Christmas parties.
