ASGE’s New Institute for Training and Technology

Groundbreaking will occur this spring and the doors will be open for training in the fall of 2013. The $20 million facility will be located on an attractive 3.5-acre site in Chicago’s Downers Grove suburb, with easy access from O’Hare and Midway airports.

The new IT&T will feature:

•           Enhanced laboratory facilities that will include up to 16 endoscopy towers to provide training simulations with current equipment and technologies

•           Advanced training models and simulators to optimize training to assure optimum patient care and safety

•           A comfortable, theatre-style 100-seat auditorium with a built-in audience-response system

•           In-house DVD authoring and rapid media duplication capabilities

•           Conference space and breakout rooms

•           The ability to send and receive live broadcast transmissions to and from anywhere in the world, including demonstration of endoscopic techniques and didactic presentations. The potential to access live and/or recorded institute hands-on and didactic courses via video streaming technology or the ASGE-controlled digital resource library

•           The ability for domestic and international faculty to participate in courses on-site or via satellite to teach cutting-edge techniques live to anyone, anywhere in the world
