Team Members Make Endoscopy Suite a Success

07/01/2002

Chandler Regional Hospital Endo All Stars Work Together

Trisha Ray, RN, is the clinical supervisor for the endoscopy department at Chandler Regional Hospital. The 140-plus bed healthcare facility, located in a Phoenix suburb, has a two-room endoscopy suite with an average monthly caseload of 275 to 300 procedures.

"The team of seven RNs and two technicians is a hard working, dedicated group of professionals who strive to provide optimal patient care in the most efficient manner possible," Ray says. "The staff works well together to accomplish the goals of the physicians and the patients in a team approach."

Ray says 60 percent of the staff are members of the Society for Gastroenterology Nurses and Associates (SGNA) and they also frequently attend educational meetings.

"All are advanced cardiac life support (ACLS) and pediatric advanced life support (PALS) certified and one staff member has successfully completed the certification exam, with another due to take the exam this month," she says. "The entire team contributes on a daily basis to ensure quality care."

Congratulations Chandler Regional endoscopy suite members!

Don't Mess with Memorial Hermann Southwest Hospital Endoscopy!

Within the largest hospital in Houston, a team of motivated endoscopy nurses and technicians schedule and treat hundreds of patients monthly.

Suzanne Dorshaw, RN, BSN, CI, says the group love their jobs and enjoys helping community members.

"I could not do my job, nor could our physicians, without the total commitment and dedication of the staff of the largest and busiest endoscopy suite in the metropolitan Houston area," she says. "Even though we see almost 900 patients a month, they are always satisfied with their care and are very complimentary of the staff. They are truly stars, as they always work as a team with the best interest of the patient at heart. They also enjoy each other's company and support each other through personal and professional crises. They are the greatest team."

"They all shine as members of the team," she says.

Nice work Memorial Hermann Southwest Hospital endoscopy team members!
