Team Members Make Endoscopy Suite a Success

California Desert Home to Excellent GI Staff

The endoscopy team of El Centro Regional Medical Center in El Centro, Calif., performs some 3,000 gastrointestinal procedures annually.

According to director of surgical services Kim Petersell, the team goes the extra mile for its patients.

"They spend long hours, sometimes into the night, caring for patients," she says. "They have a 'can do' attitude in all situations and have received many patient and physician compliments for outstanding service. When something is needed, they are there to provide the best and most caring service as an example to the rest of our staff here at ECRMC. They truly exemplify our motto 'Our family serving yours."

Pam Giesie, director of Perioperative Services at Western Medical Center in Santa Ana, Calif., says the hospital's endoscopy team provides healthcare excellence.

"We offer clinical expertise and cultural diversity," she says. "Our goal is the pursuit of happiness and success with endeavors to improve standards of care in the endoscopy unit."

Staff members have more than 70 cumulative years of experience and have participated in clinical gastrointestinal studies. Giesie says her endoscopy team members love their jobs.

"Their loyalty, dedication, knowledge and commitment to quality patient care make them Endo All Stars," she says.
