Cherokee Uniforms Seeks the `BEST OF THE BEST’ in Nursing for 2004 Cherokee Inspired Comfort Award
04/14/2004
LOS ANGELES, In its second year, the Cherokee Inspired Comfort Award was developed to acknowledge the expertise, dedication and compassion that nurses demonstrate during every work shift. This award program raises public awareness of the profession by putting the winners’ extraordinary accomplishments in the spotlight. Cherokee will announce the winners nationally in September 2004. “Nurses are highly skilled, innovative, clinical professionals, and they are often undervalued by many of those who depend on them,” said Michael Singer, president and CEO of Cherokee Uniforms. “We established the Cherokee Inspired Comfort Award to raise awareness of the profession and of the unique professionals who serve us and our loved ones every day. At a time when the nation is experiencing a dramatic nursing shortage, we believe these stories will encourage nurses on the front lines and inspire more men and women to join this vital profession.” The 2004 winners will come from three categories: Registered Nurses (RNs), Licensed Practical Nurses/Licensed Vocational Nurses (LPNs/LVNs) and Student Nurses. Nurses may be nominated in up to two categories but only may win in one. Cherokee Uniforms is offering a $2,000 grant to the first 10 nursing associations and the first 10 nursing schools to submit 200 entries. Winners of the 2004 Cherokee Inspired Comfort Award will receive a variety of prizes. The top prizewinner in each category will receive an all-expense paid Submission forms and guidelines are available at Cherokee Uniforms’ website - www.cherokeeuniforms.com. Source: Cherokee Uniforms
