PathologyPartners Establishes Strategic Alliance With gMed To Automate Patient Records

05/12/2004

DALLAS  Pathology Partners Inc., the industry leader in comprehensive gastrointestinal (GI) pathology diagnostic services and technology support systems, has announced a new strategic alliance with gMed.  Through this partnership, Pathology Partners will offer theIntelliPATH will set the standard of excellence for electronic medical records in the gastroenterology industry.”

Joe Rubinsztain M.D., CEO of gMed said, “Pathology Partners’ specialty GI pathology diagnostics and advanced reporting methodologies reflect the same high performance standards that gMed has established for its product offerings.”

Using the new IntelliPATH system, GI physicians can prepare detailed, automated endoscopy reports as soon as a procedure is complete, avoiding time-intensive, costly transcription and Mavigraphs.  Additionally, facilities can eliminate all manual chart documentation, thereby lowering costs per procedure.  Other workflow improvements include the integration of pathology management and reporting.  For example, the pathology results are electronically transmitted from Pathology Partners’ laboratory to the GI physician’s IntelliPATH system.  Other features include automated requisitions, tracking logs and status reports.

Finally, IntelliPATH can be integrated with gMed’s gCare™ office-based electronic medical records system (EMR).  By utilizing a single database for both the endoscopy center and physician’s office, redundant entry of information is eliminated and, more importantly, records can be utilized from almost anywhere.

The IntelliPATH system is now available to GI physicians nationwide.
