CCFA Illinois Chapter Puts on IBD Symposium

CHICAGO -- The 2006 Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) Symposium, "Knowledge Is Power," will be held Saturday, February 4, 2006, at the Rosemont Convention Center (near O'Hare Airport). The symposium is the gold standard in IBD education programs, and offers information on cutting-edge research and treatments.

The Illinois chapter is host to an annual medical symposium for patients, physicians, and health professionals. This one-day program provides attendees an opportunity to interact with leading researchers and physicians on breakthrough treatments, research and coping skills.

Fees are as follows:
$150 -- physicians
$75 -- nurses and allied health professionals
Fellows and trainees are free of charge.

The symposium will be held at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center at 5555 N. River Road in Rosemont, Ill. For directions, please go to www.rosemont.com.

The schedule is as follows: 8:10 a.m. (Medical) and 8:15 a.m. (Patient).

Physicians, Nurses, and Health Professionals

Patients and Families
Hear Illinois State Senator, Kathy Ryg, talk about making changes in your own community and how the Restroom Access Act was started and made into law! You can also hear from leading experts in IBD from research and treatment to nutrition, dermatology, osteoporosis, women's issues, and excercise.

Parent's and Kid's Workshops
Families -- Work together on teamwork, trust and working as a family. Learn how to make delicious IBD friendly foods!

Parents -- Hear about the future of pediatrics and IBD. Learn about current treatments for IBD. Learn how to be your child's advocate in school and in life.

Kids -- Talk with other kids about living productive lives with IBD. Have fun expressing yourself through art. Learn how laughter truly is the best medicine with Improv Olympics.
