US Endoscopy Announces Launch of BioVac® Direct Suction Device With Device Access

05/13/2008

MENTOR, Ohio — US Endoscopy, a world leader in endoscopy device design and manufacturing, announces the official launch of the newest generation BioVac® direct suction device.

In response to overwhelming customer requests, the company has added instrument access to the original BioVac device product design, making it more convenient to provide therapeutic treatment while utilizing the BioVac device.

Specializing in evacuation and lavage of the GI tract, the BioVac device is designed to suction hard-to-remove, viscous materials like gelatinous blood and stringy clots, which may otherwise clog the control head of the endoscope. With the improved design, featuring direct access for endoscopic accessories via the BioVac device’s biopsy valve, clinicians can utilize the product’s suction capabilities as well as provide therapeutic treatment. The BioVac® device offers considerable suction power and volume, ideal for a GI bleed, colonic decompression, poor prep, or retained residual food case.

"Adding device access to the BioVac® product is an example of our company philosophy to listen to our customers’ needs," said Gulam Khan, US Endoscopy CEO and co-chairman. "We have improved the device’s clinical capabilities and provided another unique solution to satisfy our customer requests."
