Frazzette, 44, joins Smith & Nephew with 20 years of sales, marketing and executive leadership experience. Most recently he served as president and CEO of MicroGroup Inc., a private, equity-owned contract manufacturer of medical devices. Prior to that, he spent 16 years at Tyco Healthcare, including three years each as president of their Patient Care and Health Systems Divisions.
Smith & Nephew COO David Illingworth remarked, “Smith & Nephew is fortunate to have added an individual of Mike’s caliber and background to lead our Endoscopy Division. With a clear understanding of the healthcare market, Mike will be instrumental in helping us build an even stronger leadership position in the arthroscopic marketplace. I look forward to his contributions.”
Frazzette will start his new position on July 5, 2006, and will be based at the Endoscopy Division headquarters in Andover. He replaces former division president Jim Taylor, who left the company earlier this year to pursue other business opportunities.
