SALT LAKE CITY—The American Academy of Professional Coders AAPC will host the third of its four 2010 quarterly workshops in more than 50 locations across the country, starting Aug. 11. “How to Perform a Successful Chart Audit,” will include information on how to fully and accurately review and validate medical charts for clear and complete documentation and accuracy from a compliance perspective. With the recently announced Medicare fraud arrests, it's more important than ever for providers to make sure their documentation, coding and billing are in compliance.

Attendees can earn up to six CEUs at this workshop. A full listing of locations is available online here.

Registration can be completed here  or by calling (800) 626-2633.

Registration is $149.95 for members, $189.95 for non-members

AAPC will host its fourth workshop of 2010 in October. The topic is “Making Sense of MAC E/M Rules” and will teach coders about the resources available to make confident decisions for the gray areas in E/M code selection. Navigation of the online resources available from CMS and MACs can provide the answers needed to select a code with confidence and know the E/M level will stand up to any audit.
