LOS ANGELES—Cherokee Uniforms recently announced that it is inviting nursing students across the country to apply for the Cherokee Uniforms "A Nurse I Am Scholarship." Ten winners will receive $2,000 awards. The deadline is March 1, 2012.
Application requirements include watching the nursing film “A Nurse I Am," —which is viewable free of charge on www.anurseiam.com—and writing an essay on a required subject. Entry requirements, tips and the application form also are on the website.
Applicants must be enrolled in an accredited LVN/LPN, RN degree (ADN or BSN), diploma, or RN-to-BSN program, and must have begun classes no later than Jan. 31, 2012. The scholarship is not open to graduate students.
Since 2007, Cherokee Uniforms has awarded scholarships totaling $100,000 to students enrolled in nursing school. Cherokee also funded the “A Nurse I Am" film, which features award-winning nurses and is shown annually to 40,000 students in more than 3,300 nursing-education programs across the United States.
